mechanical fan

hi again what are the best options for a mechanical fan with a shroud??? any pictures would be helpful still am looking for the best way to go. the taurus fan i got i would have to move the rad all the way forward against everything. trying to see what my other options are thanks. cirbo had a nice setup. just wondering what everyone else is doing ??? p.s. with or without a clutch

Im running a 7 blade clutch fan on my 350 with a modified shroud I made. I insatalled A/C friday and it seems to be staying around 190 to a little below 200 with the air on idleing. love your rig BTW.

fan is a 19"dia 7 -blade from a pre-86 Caddy/Suburban ~$10 at salvage yard
thermal clutch is a Hayden #2729. ~$60@ Advance Auto. Applications is an '82 GMC 3/4 ton with AC, auto and 454

standard off-the-shelf waterpump and 180F T-stat

i have a sbc 350 330 hp alum rad. also how about the diff between a clutch fan and mechanical other then its not working all the time so you gain horsepower

I am curious as well. Why is a clutched fan supposed to be much better than a flex fan?

Used a 1 1/4 in spacer with 17 in flex fan then fabed up 19 in shroud that I can split in two ,with the stock 4 core.keeps the 6.2 real cool .

Depending on how you mounted the engine and if your Aluminum radiator is for the FJ 40 radiator, many people flip the FJ40 fan shroud and bolt it on. I think you have to drill one hole.

As far as the clutch fan versus non clutch fan, do you have the room for a clutch fan?

I prefer the thermal clutch fans myself. I will hear it kick on and then look at my temp gauge.
