Looking for NorCal - Bay Area Mechanic for PPI
I'm in the market to buy a 100 soon but I need some recommendations for a few good mechanics in the Northern California Bay Area for pre purchase inspections. I know I could always do a Google/Yelp search, but I find forum recommendations are sometimes more reliable. Any help is appreciated...forum.ih8mud.comNew member looking for local mechanic.

Ill be hopefully purchasing a lx470 next month and was hoping someone could recommend a good (local) mechanic for a prebuy inspection. So ive owned my 2002 cruiser (ThunderTruck) for about 8 months, 6 of those months ive been deployed. My cruiser is at 180k and is in need of a timing belt/water pump. Id also prefer to do every moving part that touches the timing belt and is buried within that could sneak up and have me...forum.ih8mud.comBay Area LC help?
Hey everyone. I'm a newbie here...doing some research because I am a soon-to-be LC 100-series owner. I've been on a search for a clean '98-'99 Cruiser and, being from Minnesota, have been scouring the West Coast for something that hasn't seen our harsh, salty winters. I've tracked down a...forum.ih8mud.comNeed Referral - Timing/Water Pump/etc. for SF Bay Area
Hi guys, well I finally have a little extra money and am coming close to due for another 90/100k mile service on my '99 LC (now at 186k with original water pump). Hello NorCal Hundy owners :) Could someone please recommend mechanics who know inside out about 100 series? San Jose/Santa Clara shop recommendations?
Our 100 series is temporarily in the hands of my son in the south Bay area and likely in need of brake work - any shop recommendations gladly welcomed as I've been spoiled as Slee has worked on the vehicle exclusively here in CO and very leery in having anyone do work on itforum.ih8mud.comSuspension install recommendation (NorCal)
Hi folks: I recently got the Ironman Pro Foam suspension kit and need a recommendation on a shop in Northern California that would install it. My local mechanic only does stock and didn't want to take this on especially with the diff drop kit. OR I am ready to install it myself with help (and...forum.ih8mud.com
It is not too bad since he is not on MUD . The total repair quote is $7300, not the highest I have seen from a Lexus dealer. What else can you buy for $7300 that will last another 5-10 years, or longer? My guess on his next big repair is the secondary air pump.I mean if your friend is okaying with dropping $700 to not have to change the heater hoses and tee's themselves I guess this is going to be an expensive vehicle for them to maintain.
I totally understand I also hope someone can give new recommendations on recent discoveries of great mechanics in bay area. There must be some, considering how many Hundys there are in Cali. (Despite the $10/gallon gas, it seems every camper/offroader wants to buy a Hundy these days...)Thanks for listing them. FWIW I did search before starting this thread.
