Bay Area LC help?

Hey everyone. I'm a newbie here...doing some research because I am a soon-to-be LC 100-series owner. I've been on a search for a clean '98-'99 Cruiser and, being from Minnesota, have been scouring the West Coast for something that hasn't seen our harsh, salty winters.

I've tracked down a few trucks I'm very interested in that are in the Bay Area. Anyone out there have a good independent mechanic I could use for a PPI? I would also be willing to compensate a loyal LC enthusiast who would be willing to give their own personal inspection of a truck or two before I fly out for the final transaction.

Bay area covers a pretty big part of CA. Be more specific on location and I am sure we can find you a shop and probably some one nearby to take a look.

When Ray and wife originally owned A+, it really was A+. He lived nearby my parents on the peninsula, and they knew him as a neighbor before a mechanic.

He's both Acura and Toyota certified and did a superb job with timing belt on 's Legend. He also did a turnkey trans swap on my company Chevy Suburban...even used GM fluid to make sure that if there were the slightest possible issue with a warranty claim that he'd covered my tail. Maintained Dad's old Cressida with no issues.

When the business went to his sons, for one reason or another the place became very hard-sell..."your engine may catch fire, explode, etc.".

I honestly could not recommend them at this time, imo.
