SWAGDAN! Woo hoo, hope you can make it! Been a while since we had you and the 60 on the trail.

also Dan, please dig into your treasure trove and bring me something 'special' to give away... you know what I mean and you know what I want. :) Bring me one too.

We'll save a space for you, and feel free to hit me off line for any info needed.

looking forward to it, you're going to have an excellent time.

I betcha you want some of them burlap coffee sacks :grinpimp: Oh yeah, I'll bring plenty of those... We'll have the first annual "McGrew Three Legged Races". Screw the 4x4's , PMC peeps engage the transfer sack and 3x3!

I think I know what you mean Tony. I'll catch up with you at a PMC meeting if my schedule ever synchronizes with the cruiser gods. I've been looking forward to the McGrew run ever since I got my cruiser... I think I'll let the wife drive while I enjoy the scenery.

Been wanting to do this run for years.Does anyone happen to have the address to the O'Brien store.Would like to check mileage/time to get there from Santa Cruz.I would guess 6-7 hrs?
Also is there going to be any Kids going, mine are ages 3&7.I may want to bring my dog 2-yr.old golden ret.Do people bring dogs on this run?

Jsuthey...

Kids are very welcome, this is a family type event. There are usually 5 to 10 kids depending. The wheeling is not difficult but it is very rough and rocky the whole way.

Golden Retrievers are always welcome (just ask Ken E) but we do require all dogs on leash, in respect for everyone else attending.

I have brought my golden on this trip, they will love the river Sat afternoon.

Drive time from Santa Cruz... well it is not short trip. It is 5 hours from my house in Healdsburg (3 to Eureka, 1.5 to crescent City, a good 45 minutes to O'Brien). I think my house to SAnta Cruz via Prunedale and 101 is 2.5 hours. Wait, that was when I was working at Moss Landing PP, so it might be shorter Santa Cruz via 17 (yuk).

ya, full day for you driving... pace yourself and let those stretch their legs. :)

O'Brien is very small, you ought to be able to map quest it...

Hope you can make it, and bring that golden dawg!

Tony

It's a little under 500 miles (7.5 hours) acording to Yahoo maps, that was up 5 and around and down to o brien. A buddy of mine is coming from the east bay area, but this year he's hoping to bring his 40 instead of his 80, so I don't know if you guys would want to caravan. Unless you get your 40 off the back burner! :D

I'm in Novato. 2 years ago I took I-5 up. It was hot first, then later we got rain, then hail. Add a 33 year old FJ40 to the mix and double your travel time hehehe. Last year we took 101 up and got stuck in Orick for 3 hours because of an accident. Put us way behind schedule. Just for the record, we STILL had a blast, including the trip up and back.

Hey Thanks for all the info, thats great.
So Tony you worked at Moss landing PP,we go surfing out there sometimes, really good waves in the winter. So yea,I will plan on taking off the fri.& driving up in the 80.So I would be into a caravan w/anyone heading up.And yea,I will bring the Kids&the Dog.If all goes well at Rubithon,I really want to do this Run.The wife would be stoked if i took the kids.As the Con. is the big boys trip! Also want to do the Pig Run@Deer Valley, does anyone know the dates on this run?We did it last year late Aug. and had a blast.Looks like im' going to as many events as I can this year!Aug.1,I turn 40.Love this s*** you guys rock! TLCA is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm Lurking Now

GREAT to see all the interest! Been out of touch w/Mud lately...'till Tony just let me know this thread was going now (Tony, look for PM to your new addy soon).

This will be our BEST run yet! I do have the run info sheet updated & will be happy to shoot it to anyone wanting a pre-view and/or who's on the fence about what this run is all about. As mentioned ... those registering, when the time comes, will receive this info anyway.

As Tony says, this is a great run to get your feet wet with a TLCA event & some "rough & rocky" wheeling. The returning crowd is always a great bunch of people and it is the participants that make it GREAT. Tony & I just facilitate.

B.S.

It wouldn't be the same without Jeff and Tony! But yeah, people do make the event and this event is AWESOME.

I'm stoked to see all the excitement about this years McGrew run. This was my first and only TLCA event (I attended a few years ago) and I have been trying to get back for years. Great views, good wheeling, excellent food, and of course friendly people, I had a great time. I plan on trying to make it this year. Hope to see all of you there.

Carlos

I am thinking about comeing up this year?

GScott

Tony-

I notice the link to your club on the TLCA upcoming events page (mis)directs to the MTA website. You may want to see about getting that fixed!

i have been looking forward to the event since last year.
i have really been wanting to see if we got any props in the trails (hint, hint)

but really its a great little event, i may see if the wife will let me bring my daughter this year. she doesnt like my driving as the horns are a little more apparent in the crawler.

i am going to try to get my brother in laws 85 ready for this years trip.
i like to motivate people out of my passenger seat into their driver seat

Gnob... welcome to the TLCA forum on IH8Mud!

Gscott... thanks for the notice... although the PMC site is never updated and more stale than last years wonder bread. :-)

My son and I have done this run twice. Really awesome event. Especially notable is to jump into the Smith River late in the afternoon on Saturday after wheeling all day, and relax in the refreshing river.

Looking forward to the run again! Always a great group of people and good fun time. As always anyone rolling in through I-5 Friday is welcome to stop in Grants Pass where Matt (82-SOA-60) and I are for grub, refreshments, supplies, directions or whatever. Can't wait to see what are now becoming old friends and to meet some new ones.

Garett

do the math again i think you are off by 6 sec.
