Aric, that waterfall looks like pics I've seen of Diamond Creek just below the "saddle" . Check out Google earth where diamond Creek meets the Smith.

It's on the fire road side of the saddle.

Must be Diamond Creek that I have so much about but haven't set out to find. Would like to check it out for sure.

You could take a left fork on the way in on the fire road. It follows all the way down Diamond creek to just before it hits the Smith River. You'd have to cross Diamond Creek which is what I think they did in the video @ the 45 second spot, then make your way up to the saddle and into camp. Never done it though. Or make a short run from Sourdough Thursday or Friday and scout it out. I'm game for that.

Just took a look on Google Earth. It shows a road heading down from the saddle towards Diamond creek BUT, it doesn't look to me like it makes it all the way down to the creek. It would suck going all the way in on Diamond Creek just to find it doesn't go up to the saddle and into Sourdough.:(

I think im going to check it out. Prob early Saturday (26th). If anyone wants to join, hit me up.

Looks like its right where Wimer creek, North fork Diamond creek join Diamond creek. There is even a picture of the falls on Google Maps. I'd like to see it if we make it there on time.

Looks like there might even be a skid road coming to it just east of the saddle.

Cute pup! Shave him!!

May have to go get a little dry ice this year.

Key word. Little. Dont freeze everything into a block in your cooler. Lol

My advice use smaller pieces.

Put the dog in the freezer in a block of water/ice.. cut a hole in the lid for its head- done. 80 quart igllo will keep'em cool 4 days.
The eskimos do this all the time, that way they can ride the dog down hill when the snow is gone.

Doubles as AC if you sit close enough

Saw what a good sized block would do to the inside of a brand new cooler many years ago! Down working a checkpoint at the Baja 1000 my buddy thought that "block" in a paper bag would do the trick. We couldn't understand why that cooler never moved much in the back of his Blazer doing 80 mph catching air all over. The block froze to the inside plastic liner, which broke through and froze the outside metal straight through to the floor board in the rear. We pulled it out leaving the ice stuck in the truck and a nice square hole in his new cooler. Dry ice has since had my "respect". It was some funny sheeet though!

Kief, are your girls making Tamales this year?? o_O

1. Doggie will be HOT, we are bringing our 4 month old black lab for his first run as well.
2. Chris if you bring dry ice PLEASE PLEASE someone bring some 2 Liter plastic bottles for some fun!
3. Tamales? Only if we are lucky!
4. Don't forget JSC is supplying a 89 lb. hog for the potluck, Smokin' D's special dry rub recipe.
5. Thinking of grabbing a turkey to thrown in with the hog, any thoughts on that???
