May 2012 monthly trail run

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CSC needs a member to step up and take the May club run.

You pick the run
Any degree of difficultly
Any place in the state
Any weekend of the month

Don't be shy, guarantee someone will show.

Time to get involved in your club. This is a great time of the year to get out.

There are plenty of member that can help you if you need it.

Cant wait.....I wonder who and where?

Take it from me, there are so many people that help and lend a hand that it is truly a group effort with alot of great support. Dont be shy like Phil says.

North Seems GOOD?

With the Overland Expo May 18 - 20, 2012 in Flagg..
Might be a good chance to plan an overnighter someplace cool in between?
I am going to the Verde hot river springs.. on Saturday staying the night and coming out Sunday..

Verde Hot River Springs

And if there is any trails in the area for a Saturday run... then folks that are heading to the expo can overnight at the Springs or head to Flagstaff/camp Verde etc... for the night, then hit the Overland expo on Sunday? (Just putting the idea out there if anyone knows of a good offload trail in the Camp Verde Verde / Verde river area! that we could possibly run Saturday 19th?

This may be obvious, but if a ride doesn't happen this weekend (which seems a bit short notice), or during the Overland weekend, that only leaves Memorial day weekend.

A few words of caution:

Some views that can be had at Verde River Hot Springs (I assume you mean those across the river from Childs...) are neither family-friendly, nor are they eye candy...

Actually, come to think of it, they were actually quite scary, and I believe that was from the male as well as the female perspective... and we were there at the beginning of the obesity epidemic in America... :grinpimp:

 That's what my colleague at work told me too..
I think that was a bad idea!!!! :bang:

I'd say Payette (or Pyatte or whatever) Memorial Day w/e is a great option, but then again ther may be others with the same thouhgt...

it's not a bad idea at all to go the Verde Hot Springs; what Michael meant to say is it's a bad idea to look at the people who may be there - two totally different things, both of which you have total control over :flipoff2:

Last time I was there the view wasn't that bad. The area was less built up. Came in from Childs side and waded across the river. I was driving a Opel GT and the other couple were driving a Datsun station wagon. Drove the same Opel Gt to the trail head for Tramway Trail on West Clear Creek. Lifts are so over rated.
