max tire size

i have a 1982 bj60 , locked front and rear with 4.88's.im wondering if i can do 37" tires and not break my cv's.i wanted 35" or maybe 36" but i cant find a good deal on any close by, and i just came across a good deal on 37".ill get cromoly cv's over the winter.anyone ever pulled this off and gotten away with it?thanksmanuel
 
Do you have a SOA suspension? Body lift? An itching to put your sawsall to use? I doubt over 34" will work without one or more of those.
 
yeah its soa and i have the 32V dewalt sawsall.(the same one used in the transformers movie).
i just dont wana break my axles.
 
yeah lockers up front but no longfields.
im not worried about fitting i just dont want to break stuff.
 
as long as when you are rough on it your wheels are pointed straight you will probally be ok.
if its a good deal get em.
 
all depend on how heavy you right foot is. each tire size you go up does put more strain on the system.
