www.careze.com is the website that the general manage gave me to have a look at.....
crushers said:so i had a chat with Toyota Canada just now to find out their feelings on what i perceive as a conflict of interest.
i mentioned they put a stop on all parts that are not on the NA EPC last year
-- they agreed this was the case.
i mentioned this seemed to show non-support for the JDM units coming in from Japan.
i mentioned there are at least 7 dealerships selling JDM units in western Canada and how does Toyota Canada feel about this issue since this seems to be in conflict with their stand on JDM imports.
i asked how they feel about their franchises selling units that even they can not get parts for.
i asked them how they feel about the customers of these dealerships needing parts that they can not get.
--the customer should do their research before buying these units. Toyota Canada does not stand behind these units.
i suggested that maybe Toyota Canada should insist on their dealers warning the customers of this fact.
--it is the customers responsibility to do their research.
This was a conversation with Nathan at Toyota Canada's head office.
I found the results to be interesting to say the least.
Once again a customer should do their research.
cheers

Yes, it is sad that Toyota won't bring in what the select few want.
Hawke said:I've got a bit of a problem with Toyota dealerships bringing in JDM vehicles for sale. I asked a salesman at our dealership if he thought it was rather unsual for the dealership to be selling what is, in essense, a grey market vehicle. His response was a blank stare. When I asked about parts and service he said it would be no problem -- of course he's a salesman who will tell you anything to make the sale (some sales people anyway).

i have no problem with anyone selling JDM imports, i DO have a problem if the importer does not warn the customer of:Hawke said:I don't see anything wrong with the dealers selling JDMs except the hypocrisy involved.
Hawke said:I think you're right. People buying from a Toyota dealership are going to expect the dealer to back the truck. The buyer will be some pissed when they find out there's no support from the dealer.
CanSurf said:I agree. If you bought a used Chevy from a Toyota dealership you wouldn't really expect the dealership to back it. But...when you buy a Toyota vehicle from a Toyota dealership...I for one would expect, without having to ask, that they would back it. Just seems to make sense.
