Ive been looking at a vendor over on pirate who makes beadlocks for steel and aluminum wheels.

The steel wheels get a steel inner and outer ring, the aluminum set get an aluminum inner and a steel outer: Diybeadlocks.com big sale - Pirate4x4.Com

Anyway, I posted a picture of an option for the moto metal skull wheels the other week and its got me thinking about designing a set for my 80.

The reason Id like them on my 80 is that it has the narrow alloy 17" fjcruiser wheels, and the narrow wheel tends to give too much center wear on my nitto's. As well I do occasionaly air down on the trails here, mostly for winter terrain, and to smooth out the suspension a bit on some slow moving potholed roads.

I thought Id start a thread for CAD design to post some pics of what Id like to make, and if anyone has feedback or their own designs then please feel free to share.

Also, if there is interest in a group buy we can send it off to some machine shops for quotation.

A couple pics of my designs so far, one for the moto 909, and the other for the fjcruiser wheel. Both designs are rough from images only, but can be tuned up before sending anything out. :hhmm:

edit, actually, I should have put this in wheel and tire tech, if a mod wants to move it, that may be a better spot.

How did this go? I've been thinking about fabricating my own beadlocks as well, I will be using a CNC for all the cutting.
