Rubber Seals?
I have Shin etsu grease, but the application takes forever. Im thinking of buying the easier Gummi Pflegde, Sonax, or 303 rubber protectant. Probably going to be applying them yearly. Is shin etsu substantially longer lasting?

Air filter?
In the past rockauto specials on all my vehicles every year because they were so cheap. The throttle on all the vehicles were spotless even at 100k/15 years. In this rig, I dont want to rockauto but rather oe from bell lexus parts. Time interval is probably more important on this rig. Whats a good time interval for these?

I use that on my sunroof seals as well

Speaking of sunroof Acrad, my sunroof is getting a little grindy and slow.
I've used my air compressor and blown out everything I could and sprayed lub all along the rails.
Any thoughts?
Apologies, don't mean to highjack the thread.
If it's anything more than a one post response, we can start another thread.

no need to apologize, rubber seals particular in the sunroof are something that keep me alert with maintenance. My working tab off issues with electronics and water with this platform were folks who had ecu failures after driving through a carwash with/without undercarriage washer and a history of windshield replacement. In addition a couple of 22-23 owners who had some sunroof leaks after driving through a car wash (this story I honestly lost track of with updates).

Had not seen the Honda/ShinEtsu grease before. Just ordered a tube! My sunroof is getting pretty loud and I've otherwise been at a loss as to how to rejuvenate the seal, outside of spending $500-600 on new glass with a seal. Hopefully the grease and some wire or another bike tube shoved in the seal will work.

@r2m If you cleaned and lubed what you can see... I would probably drop the motor and see if that is the issue or worn lubrication within the gearcase of the sunroof motor. Motor is access under the overhead console. Sunroof performance issues on 460 are rare so haven't put much thought into it.

My not sure if my soonroof is slow or not but one of the components is rattling a bit over hard bumps. Kinda maddening.

Common problem on all GX460 year models. The high pressure spray nozzles and air dryers overwhelm the rubber seal on the outside lifting it up just enough to let water in. I'm literally going to masking tape it the next time I put it through an auto carwash.

Is this different from normal op? The sunroof from my understanding isnt a sealed system, water will channel in and then out thru drains. The CL owners seemed to be complaining of water intrusion into the cabin. Its been a long time so i dont remember all the deets.

Tha is likely due to clogged front drains which cause water to pour down the A pillars and onto some control modules. It's imperative to keep these drains clear.

I would start another thread, but figured easier to tack it on here.

I have been experiencing this jerky shift at low speed, heavy stop and go traffic or if you have two consecutive speed bumps where you need to slow down and then get back on the throttle and then let off. Is this normal for the a760F?

I am thinking of taking it under warranty, but wondered if I can reset the trans ecu before that to diy tb it?

Unfortunately, knowing Toyota/Lexus, one can't just purchase tabs alone for $20-50 clams. Probably would have to purchase the ENTIRE sunroof assembly. :(

When I get a moment, or when I get annoyed enough, I'll do that. Not quite there yet.
Thanks for the suggestion.

His use case is a bit extreme, but i would check.

Thankfully the only thing rattling doesn't have to do with the glass piece. It's the metal piece in the front area that is spring loaded and makes noise with the sunroof closed. Makes no noise when it's open that I can remember.

I use the Gummi Pflegde and application is pretty darn easy as long as there is clearance for the bottle/applicator sponge. This thread reminds me I should do another round on all the vehicles and camper.

undercoating done, and well i remembered fluid film comes with an odor, well that odor is something else. Thankfully its air condition weather so nothing permeates the cabin, but I am assuming folks outside will have other thoughts.

I have an appointment setup with the local dealer, feeling iffy about going. I dont like handing over my truck, them coming back with the "they all do that".

My wife despises the Fluid Film smell. It does not bother me very much actually :). The smell should subside within a few weeks.

FYI if it really bothers you, Woolwax has much less of an odor.

I was going to get woolwax but didnt research much ahead of time about its ability to creep.
As you said odor will subside and as long as im not huffing it in, I should be fine.

Now to find that dusty road or ask my local lumbar yard for some sawdust (maybe joking)

Being that it's nontoxic, you can huff it all you want with no negative health effects. Of course you'll reek of fluid film though :).
