Hi thanks for everyone’s time.
I’ve been having an ongoing problem for over a year now and haven’t been able to find anything. The original fusible link blew which meant the car lost all power. This was fixed by the auto sparky by replacing the main fusible link with an inline 100amp blade fuse. This worked for a long time. But all of a sudden it blew the 100amp fuse so I replaced that and it blew again. Then I swapped the blade fuse with a 120amp circuit breaker. But it just keeps tripping and loosing power. I originally disconnected the glow screen and then it didn’t trip for a while. But has sense started tripping again. I think that it trips when there is a bigger load on it like the winch or head lights. Usually trips after about 5 minutes of driving.
I can’t seem to find any faults in the wiring. Hopefully this all makes sense and someone can help me.
I’ve taken the car to two auto electrician but they couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
It’s a 96 1hd-ft 80 series by the way.
Thanks for you time!

Ouch,
First thing I would check is the metal bus bar connecting all of the glow plugs to power. If its bent or rubber insulation is missing it will short.
Power to bus bar is Passenger side of engine, 10 or 12 mm nut to remove, the bar is in line with injectors.
Be sure to insulate and isolate that power.
If your still running a 24v starter she should have no worries starting.

Thanks for the reply.
I don’t have glow plugs on the 1hd-ft but a glow heater on the air intake. This is what I thought was causing the problem originally so I replaced the heater element but that still didn’t fix it. So I’ve disconnected the glow power from the battery so there is no glow at all but it still trips so I don’t think that’s the problem.
Hopefully this is what you meant
Thanks
