I'm getting ready to install the MAF rear disc brake conversion kit. The tech links look pretty good and already cleared up some quesiton marks from the crappy instructions that came with the kit.
for me i tightened the bracket and then tried to put the caliper on... my advice is to get everything bolted up loosely including the caliper over the rotor and then tighten down everything.. otherwise i couldn't get the caliper on.

The problem with your method is that if the bracket-to-axle housing shimming is not correct (preventing you from installing the caliper after the bracket is tight), then when you do tighten up everything, you'll be putting the caliper-to-rotor into a bind. My advice would be to shim brackets accordingly so that after brackets are tight caliper easily floats right onto the rotor. I don't know if the MAF brackets have a shimming provision or not???
