Bigger job than what you are scoping, but for perspective...

1990 fj62 - no rust or major damage, but tons of little dents and dings all over. Color change from red to dark metallic grey. Macco's top paint option. All in $6500

Pick it up tomorrow...fingers crossed.

Hoosier261, I am interested in feedback and photos if you can. My 60 is silver with dings and rust un the rain gutters; not bad rust but there and I plan on a repaint with silver. Thank you.

o dang, im topping $4000 for frame off on my FJ40 so I wanted the $600 "Special" just to spruce it up or I will sand it at home and spray.
post photos tomorrow!
That $600 dollar special will just be for the paint itself they aren't including prep work or clear coat most of the time.

not a 60, but 2 years ago we had the wifes 99 LX 470 repainted by the local(Bremerton WA) Maaco, paid 2K.....and its looks GREAT, you would never in the world think it came out of Maaco. Our 99 had the bad OEM paint like others of the same color......made since to toss 2k at it to make it look nice.....that and my wife loves the darn thing. we had no body work done and went with the same color

The cheap, generic Maaco paint (generic colors) can be scratched with a fingernail. I would upgrade considerably and spend a lot more than $600. If you don't do the masking yourself, it may look like a teenager with a hangover did the masking. Maacos vary GREATLY in quality. I would prefer a car with bad paint, over one with a $600 scuff-and-squirt from Maaco.

ok, couple a drunks and a paint gun it is. some kind of army green with $500 in paint and primer.
Ill settle with bugs and dirt because it looks ruined now.

Ill do it my self!

Researched this myself, and the mid-grade option from MAACO was 1500 with me sanding it down to perfection. Much better off doing it yourself

I will be ordering it myself and painting the entire rig next year.

FYI some Advanced Auto Parts locations will mix paint for you, I was quoted 300 for the single stage paint. Call them and ask around, they have single stage and bc/cc options available. Well worth your time, and you can have the correct color mixed.

Picking her up today...they needed an extra day to put it back together and detail. Will post pics this weekend once I get the front grill/bumper installed.

Quoted $8600 from Chaz Body here in Anchorage, $6-8K from Glacier Body in Eagle River. No one up here does mask and paint. They all take it apart to paint. Quoted $2500 from AK Bedliners to Bulletliner it inside and out!

I painted one a few years ago. Spent 1,000 on supplies from carquest. Shipping hazmat to here is rediculous stupid expensive.

Looks good! Not every Maaco is the same - looks like you got one of the better shops!
