Cool. My only advice is when adding reinforcement (I'm using thin box steel as you saw) only weld every couple inches. No warpage. Do all that first *then* drill/add your hinges as my lineup is a hair off and it's now a tad difficult to close my sliders. I'll get it but it will take some time dewarping the tailgate and removing some more metal from the slider pipe... Otherwise it is a killer design - and thanks man!

Do you have any more details on how you extended the tongue? That is really a nice job you are doing! I just acquired a 416, and am anxious to change a few things! But it is a very sweet unit.

Cheers!

If you take a look in the thread it is really well documented, photos and alignment and everything. Not too hard at all. But I have seen some neat, possibly less labor intensive versions where they simply extended the lunette. There are all sorts of ways to do it. As it was right when I first started I didn't mind the time to do it. Honestly though it wasn't a ton of work, I sort of had it dialed and set in even one session...

Some more updates... I added on one "bling" mod the trailer will have, which is a little "kitchen... "

i dont want to hijack your thread but i didnt know where else to post this..

hey man forget what i said about the oxygen.. DONT DO IT.. very dangerous.. my spud cannon was (i said was) built way stronger than yours sch 80 pvc and reinforced, 100,000 volt ignition, combustion fan. bla bla bla i was shootin patatoes straight through 3/4'' hardwood planks at 25 yrds no problem this weekend i uped the mix added some propane to the oxy/static gaurd.. almost blew my head off.. burnt my neck luckily my arm aint broke.. only bruised a little bit..

Yeah, lemme go out back and grab some kevlar to wrap my home made potato cannon with.....

I sure hope that you are alright. I am glad that the blast and plastic shrapnel didn't cut you to pieces. I knew those spud guns had some power but I didn't realize that they had that much power.

How do you like the suspension on your trailer? Can you tell a big difference on the trail from when it had a sold axle? I have read and looked at this mod but was wondering if it was really worth the time and money. Great job and enjoy the fruits of your labor.
