First impressions:
-everything is about 10-20% better in a three year newer 700h
-floaty and oddly unsettled ride from the original AHC in 2022 (drove an f-sport before buying mine) is much improved
-steering wheel has a slightly modified bend of the leather at the 5:30 and 6:30 positions so my fingers don't get wedged uncomfortably.
-infotainment and dash user interface is more complicated--not a good thing
-cruise control with radar and lane keeping is vastly improved, with no annoying beeps when I change lanes without a blinker
- improved quietness inside
-three rows of seats is noce
-loss of rear cargo space is a true loss, but one that I'll be fine living with
-massaging seats are catnip for the wife. She melted into the passenger seat and just about fell asleep (helps that we've been traveling back from Africa for the last 54 hours)
-love the look, black accents, wheel-tires, and the IYKYK bit about the LX. Don't get me wrong, it's still a lavish SUV but from the outside the overtrail just doesn't scream "money!" the way an Escalade, X7, or G-wagon does.

For LXOT, has anyone figured out how to fold the 2nd row directly to flat? It keeps tumbling fwd then i would need to re-latch it to the fold/flat position.

Well done. I think the only thing I would miss if I had made this trade would be the peanut butter interior.
Yes, I did really like the tan interior. And having a little buyer's remorse about not having a base model rig that would be easy to modify and with minimal things to break.

But, modifying it knocks out 90% of the resale market. And all the doodads on the new one are covered under warranty.

Frankly, I think with the OT trim, all you need are:
  • Sliders
  • Skids
  • Wheels/Tires (34"-35")

And you're golden for a great majority of trails.

I am a big advocate for OEM off-road “mods”. No aftermarket gets even close to OEM tools/toys. Whenever I can and there is an OEM solution I will choose that. Unless you are planing to go rubicon style trails, you will be much better served with the OT than with any mods you would do to your old LX.

I've got this for rubicon style trails :)

And yes, agree.

2A folks, where do you guys store your conceal, when you can't carry it with you? I lock mine in the glove box. But the glove box is not as quick access.

Door map cubby. Vehicle is either locked, it's on my person, or in the safe at home.

Thats a place thieves look. I ride with it there but hide it under the seat when parking unless you have a safe.

thieves don't look under the seat?
He's got a point. Easier to bash a window and reach there than open a door, feel around under a seat, etc.

I happen to live in a part of MS where most of us carry, we're out in the country and they are more for the four legged problems than the two legged ones, so it's not as much of problem.

Been broken into a couple times and they haven’t. Its usually smash and grab. Tools in my truck or they open everything up.

Not saying leave it there over night.

Your lx was robbed?

My pickups 5 or so times I can remember. Where they broke a window.

And hey they look for guns. Keep them hidden and locked up. My brother has been robbed at gunpoint before, its not cool.

Only thing they ever got was a drill but I was at a jobsite. I hide or remove everything if possible.
