I installed these Moog sway bar end links about a year ago (6k miles), noticed when I was down changing front brake rotors that the passenger side end link bushing was toast. I swapped them out today.

Is it possible that I installed this improperly? I had both sides torqued similarly. One side was perfectly good, the other side was trash. On a side note, I contacted Lexis and was informed that they are no longer producing these? This seems strange to me. I picked up some lifetime warranty ones from the local auto parts store, they take 5 minutes to swap so that should cure that.

Did you have any oil or fluids dripping on he bushing? Could have been poor aftermarket quality.

I’m showing OEM parts as still available. Put your VIN in Partsouq to confirm part number.

Are you lifted or still running AHC? Did you remove the originals? How did they look?

You can consider extended links if this seems to be a re-occuring problem related to ride height.

OR ditch those aftermarkets and get OEM

I can't imagine you installed them wrong it would either work and all bolt together , or not.

If lifted:

Moog = junk.
This. I had to grab some from the parts store recently, and ended up returning them because the 25yo ones I was attempting to replace were better quality. Order from partsouq or Amayama if you can’t get them locally. They are a quick swap and worth doing OEM given how cheap they are and the difference good ones make.

Ayama and Partsouq are both good but the best is Impex. Best prices for OEM parts and cheapest shipping compared to the other two.

I'm about to install my Trail Tailor extended sway bar links. Is that a mistake? Should I stay with stock?

Why are you not using the OEM links?

They're perfectly fine and have a good rep around here. Stock is also fine, unless you need/want them to be longer.

No good reason I'm not using OEM. I did ALL the rubber underneath over the last year with OEM, except the sway links because I overlooked them when placing my orders. I threw some lifetime warranty local parts store ones in there, we'll see how they do and swap em as needed.

Thanks everyone for all the input

I bought some non-Toyota rubber 'donuts' for sway bar ends, and they were cracking in under a year. It seems that inexpensive aftermarket parts have actually gotten worse over the years, as cheap Chinese junk is just re-boxed by 90% of the resellers. I only used these cheapie parts here because they are so easy to replace.

I mused to the Autozone counter guy 'What is 'Duralast' brand - just cheap Chinese junk thrown in a Duralast box?' - his answer: 'Pretty much'. But, it's priced about like OEM, which is why I spend so little money at Autozone.

'Nuff said.
