Hi guys,

I have a small leak on my 2001 lx radiator that i think I'm going to try to tackle. From the research ive done it seems advisable to do the thermostat at the same time and flush the system. Are there any other parts to replace while im in there? The waterpump was recently done when the timing belt was replaced. Iv read that the heater hose t's could be suspect? Rock auto doesnt have them listed on their site so i would have to find elsewhere but no biggie. Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated!

I'd change at least the 2 main radiator hoses and clamps. Definitely change the heater T's if they haven't been done. Also, a new OEM radiator cap.

Get oem radiator hoses, thermostat and heater T joints.

Ok guys it seems unanimous. Radiator, thermostat, upper and lower hoses, and heater T's!

Thanks for the quick response everyone.

You are at 383k km.... which is about the life of a fan clutch. You can certainly change it with the radiator in place but if you are in there anyway...

Agree to check it at least. It might have already been changed somewhere along the way. But good item to do...while you are there.

OEM HOSES for OEM Radiator. Some aftermarket radiators have slightly smaller outlet, which was the case with the Spectra I installed, had a tendency to weep coolant past the clamp ( yes new factory clamps). I ended up with a Continental hose that had a thicker wall to make up for the fractionally smaller outlet diameter.

Same thing with my Spectra. Gates hose...fixed that issue though.
