I am being told I need a new assembly - works but still leaking. Any idea where t source one. The shop I used (an landcruiser specialist) cannot find one. I am a little surprised they cannot find one and my annoyance may be coming through here because they had 8+ months. I don’t think I want used? Seems like I may just buy another problem. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

You can't buy a "new" assembly.

You can buy the glass with a seal, you can buy the two cables, you can buy a few of the plastic parts. just those parts will cost close to $4000, let alone the labor to drop the headliner, remove the assembly, and completely rebuild. Each cable is $1000 and there are two.

If it still works (as in opens and closes fully), you can buy the glass with seal for around $800 (I haven't looked up this price lately) then have it installed.

These sunroofs all leak and are a PITA.

Some folks here actually remove it and weld a plate over the hole and repaint.

Havent had a drop come in since this :)

Amayama says they have them, again. When I looked last year, they were discontinued.

You'll have to contact them to see if they actually have one. If the sunroof still moves, all you need is the glass.

I strongly recommend you install rear drain tubes in the front position and route them through the floor. The OEM design requires the inner fender to fill up before it drains into the rocker panel. This almost guarantees the sunroof will leak, you will have a wet floor, and your wiring harness joining connectors to the floors, on both sides, will corrode. It may take years after you install a new glass with a new seal, but it will happen.

Replacing the glass takes about half an hour. Use care when removing the trim around the sunroof, because it'll be brittle and I doubt you'll find replacements. After you get that off, the nuts on both sides will be obvious. Remove them, and then the glass.

Post back if you get a new glass panel from Amayama, I'm curious to know if they have them again (I need one for my 07-95). Toyota North America says they can't get them, and they're aren't in the UAE, that I can find.
