So I am looking now at upgrading to a 2000 LX. I know Landcruisers and I use to have an Audi Allroad with ajdustable air suspension.

The LX has fluid suspension. Some ? I have?

What speed does it put you in N level from low and high?

Can you wheel offroad in high level?

Can you make the suspension stiffer in a LX by changing front T-bars and rear springs if you wanted to? Has anyone done this or you all happy with the OEM set up?

Can you keep it in low or high if you wanted to at any speed?

Thanks:beer:

1 The LX (& some TLCs) has adjustable air (actually nitrogen) suspension as well, like your Allrad, just that there is a hydraulic oil in the shocks, which transfers the suspension travel to the gas springs.

2 At a low speed, think it is under 20 mph somewhere.

3 Yes. That's the idea. When in Low gear range, the suspension doesn't automatically go down. Instead it automatically goes extra high, if needed.

4 Yes. Depends on what extra (heavy) stuff you install, and/or whether you still want it to be able to go to Low.

5 No. Yes, if you do some modding, or install an aftermarket suspension controller (from Japan).

6 You're welcome.

uHu.
Thanks!
We were able to hack the CPU in the Allroad so we could raise it more or lower it but those changes would be at every level. It would be nice to be able to drive the LX in low on the highway.

Interesting that when you use low gear it will keep you on high suspension.

Just add some hundred kg of IKEA furniture... works great! ;) Tried it on our holidays in august. I don't know exactly how much weight we put inside and on top of the car, but in 650 km it wasn't able to go back to normal level, even at 140 km/h.
Once unloaded it went fine again.

There may be some hacks to change things, but stock, it will go from "low" to normal at about 5mph, and from "high" to normal at about 15-20mph. Ride height does not change from "normal" as speed increases.
