LX Owners: How difficult is it to lower your Tailgate? (1 Viewer)

Mine has never been super loose, but under normal conditions, I've never had to force it either. I've had situations where it started to bind a bit, but a little oil in the hinges cleared up all binding.

I usually notice some binding after very dusty trips, for example, after returning from a 4 day trip to Death Valley, the tail gate was stiff. A few drops of oil in the hinges fixed it though.

A normally functioning LX-450 tailgate will approximate the above mentioned characteristics of "dropping like a rock". Why?? because that's what mine does. All the rest of you's tailgates that do not exhibit the above mentioned characteristics are fawked up! So deal with it. :flipoff2:

Mine drops smooooth, like budda :flipoff2:
I've got two subs in it.

I would be leary if it is binding.
When it is closed, are the gaps on each side the same ?

Thanks!

Thanks for all the input everyone. If I get the chance to go look at it again I will inspect further. It didn't look like there was any accident damage, but that doesn't mean there wasn't any. Funny that this guy was so adamant that it was normal though, adamant enough that I had to make sure. So thanks again for all the input...

Mine has always operated easily as described....but I've found it's MUCH smoother after taillight guard installation.
