For me, the biggest reasons for the LX over the LC are the Mark Levinson audio and projector headlamps. Hard to believe, but even the '07 LC doesn't have projectors while the '06 4runner does. I think it's impossible to buy a new LC in this country without nav. I hear it's hard enough to find one w/o AHC, as pretty much all of them are loaded.
I know that removing AHC on the pre-2000 LXs is fairly straight forward as mentioned above. Has anyone actually seen/read/heard of it being done on a 2000+ yet? I believe I read somewhere that it wouldn't be as easy because of some TRAC/VSC interfaces connected to AHC somehow? I'm sorta rambling anyone have any insight? If it has been done, that would definitely sway my decision toward the LX.
edit-Not trying to thread-jack, I'll move if appropriate.
Would it be warrented to start a new thread, not so much about the LC/LX but about the aftermarket suspension modification and the benefits/drawbacks to modifying it. I know alot of you guys really love your LX's. My guess is with the prices just now starting to come down, it might not be unreasonable to assess most of you are not using it for rock crawling so much as expedition style driving over diffacult terrain??? I don't want to mess up that nice of a vehicle either, at least not yet! Also for those of who who own one w/AHC how many of you have had to replace parts? out of warrenty and what where the expenses?
A dealer in the San Diego area is advertising LC's at $12,000 under sticker. While I've seen LX's that far under sticker, this is the first time I've seen a LC that low.
For those that are looking, it may be a a buyers market right now.

I will probably get a 2007. I am just waiting to see more news and pictures of the 2008 LX before I cut the check. I am hoping we may see it in the NY auto show this april.

I've bought both my new LC/LX's late in the season for big savings. Since it appears I keep them literally forever, I don't feel like I gave up much, and saved tens of thousands.
