Just finished reading this coverage from the beginning Kelly. :hmm:

I've been shopping hard for a 100 Series / LX 470 but the LX's front ends were my biggest brake tapper. Now that I see what you've created, I think I can pull the trigger on one now. I was intrigued by Extreme Land Cruiser's, Flex Dream LC60 retro front end. Flex-Dream-LC100-BiegeBlack.jpg

Your American build is masterful...

The support from the community here has been surreal as well. This is a great place you have here mates.

Watching and standing by,

At the estimated ~$950, this is bare metal with 7" mounting rings?

I'd still need to powder coat or paint, and provide:

7" Headlights.
(smaller) formerly high beam aux lights.
A single row 31.5" light bar for the "Knight Rider" option.
Wiring/relays.

Correct?

Have you identified any small round lights that will work with the "default" build?
Have you identified any particular "Knight Rider" LED light bar?

Sounds correct. I have not done any research on the 3.5" light options. I looked at a light bar that would fit but I do not remember what it was. Once the top grille piece is dialed in, then I can measure exactly what light bar will fit.

Powder coat black satin or body color? My LX is the gold color metallic stock

I will offer the first round at $950 but it might increase, it takes a lot of parts to make this set. Maybe a group buy for the first few sets if there is enough interest. I know many have shown interest, however, the crickets await.
I am ready when you are, sir!

It looks like these will work:

3.5" round lights
Correct, those will work, and any lights similar should work.

There is a frame base underneath where the light will mount. It will require a spacer to mount in the correct location height. I can make a base that is raised so that a minimal spacer would be needed, I just don't have time for any more designing. I can also make the plate solid where the light opening is located, then the buyer can drill holes to fit the lights of their choice.

Here's a cheaper light set:

Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way...

My thought process is/was, if I'm paying ~$1000 for a grill & headlight conversion, to enable running modern headlights (something like the Morimoto Sealed7 or JW Speaker 8700) @~$500, I'd like a little more than just a "place holder" sitting next to them.

I was thinking something more along the lines of Baja Designs Squadron R Pro:

My thoughts exactly. A Trucklite or JWS pair of high/low LEDs for the main beams and a good pair of 90mm LED high beams as driving lights. I'm coming from HID retrofits so this has to be lighting upgrade for me.

These housings will hold most 7" round universal headlights. Also, any 3.5" lights will fit in the housings. There are obviously cheap lights and very expensive light options too. I went with 3.5" because it seems like a very common size, and buyers can decide what lights they can afford.

I was talking about the fog lights. I bought these for my headlights:

Can somebody with photoshop skills add a bumper under the grill?

Pretty soon we're not going to need photoshop for that :)

Any updates on grill that will fit an 05 LX?
No, and honestly I will not be making one unless someone in my area donates a test vehicle for a couple of days.
