I have recently purchased a 2000 LX 470 and am just starting my build. I squeezed some 295's in the wheel well for now because i dont want to have to rebuy tires in a year when i add a lift. Any ways, i am looking to put an ARB front bumper on it with a warn 12k. However, these are built for 100 series cruisers with the different light configuration. Does anyone have any experience with putting this on the Lexus. I am worried about the vertical bars blocking out my 2 smaller interior lights. Glad to be a new meber, thanks for any help.

Everyone told me that if you get the new 2003+ ARB bumper then you just need to cut the light tabs from center hoop so your hood will open. You will also need to rewire your turn signals to work with new bumper setup....that is all.

Maybe 1LoudLX can chime in as he gave me most of my info on this matter...

I believe the hi-beams are blocked slightly, but nothing to be concerned about. You will have to cut the areal tabs of the upper bar work and re-wire the LX turn signals using a LC dual filament bulb and wiring as you loose the factory turn signals and replace with the ARB. The ARB does have blinkers on it, but I wouldn't rely on those to let people know you are turning.

As for the bumper fitment, since you have a 2000 LX and putting a ARB that was designed for a 03+ Landcruiser, you will have a slight gap around the headlight/grill area. Again, nothing really to worry about, let me know if you want a picture of the gap, I can snap a few.

Did you put a winch in yours. Does the added weight of the ARB and winch Lower the front significantly?

Thanks for the advice.

Why do you not thinkg the ARB blinkers are good enough?

Also, i would love a pic, as this is an expensive part to be throwing on the front.

I have sold a couple of the ARB 03+ combo bars to customers who have 2000 LX470's with zero complaints. As noted you will need to cut off the tabs on the top bar so that the grill does not hit the bull bar when opening your hood. Other than the modification to the tabs by cutting them off, you simply follow the installation instructions provided with the bull bar and you will be fine.

Best,

Zane

Thanks for the pic, that seems to be nothing to worry about. Looks good

I would try to use the ARB blinker lights...and only do the LC mod if using the Slee or Bumpit models that have nothing.....but either will work. I would also wire the fog light switch to the ARB lights if you get them as well. :D

I have the 03 ARB on my 2000. However I only went with a 9k winch as I was worried about weight and didn't want to address the suspension - wish I had though.

I really like the industrial look of the ARB, however from a functionality standpoint I think Slee's front bumper is better because it provides recovery points and provides for an open winch install.

and I am not sure about the LX and LC...but on my FJC and my FJ60 there was a good bit of body movement even with a stiff frame....and if you get them too close you will have body rubbing on the armor. That much of a gap is no big deal in the big scheme of things and looks good still.

i think you will love it...

IDK about the 60, but the chassis on a 100 is WAY stiffer than on an FJC

The ARB turn signals should be fine by themselves, its no different from the stock setup.....worst case get brighter LED bulbs or something.

oh yeah...the FJC body moves more than a cheap two dollar stripper when someone turns on Warrants CHERRY PIE!!!! LMAO

03+ is the only one that will fit on any year LX, assuming you cut the CB tabs off. If you get the older one you've got to cut a lot of the bumper up to make it fit, not worth it IMO.

NOBODY PAYS ATTENTION TO YOUR SIGNALS ANYWAYS!

no gap on the LX, it's the same style as the 03+ land cruisers.
