with an ARB combination bar, could you swap out your headlight assemblies without removing your bumper? Or is it like a brushguard where you have to take the bumper out?

thanks for all the info. Here is my final question. I am a relative novice. Is this something i could do easily on my own. I have socket wrenches, and most normal tools and jack stands etc, but no cutters, grinders of any sort. To give you an idea, i put a suspension lift on my old yukon, but that is about the most advanced thing i have done on my own. Any advice is appreciated.

You'll want to have an angle grinder, or functional equivelant, to cut the frame horns and cb tabs. A drill will also be required. Otherwise nothing terribly complicated about doing this at home.

got the drill, and everything i need with it. Will need to borrow the grinder. is there any way to do it without it? and will post pix

this should be much easier than putting on a suspension lift right?

You could pick up a 4 1/2 angle grinder from Harbor F. less than $20. One my favorite tools.
Guess you could use a hacksaw, but it will take awhile.

i think i will get the grinder. didnt realize they were that cheap. i would probably spend the same in saw blades. not to mention i am not looking for that work out.

Not having done a suspension lift on the truck, can't really compare. But I was able to do this with a friend, without being terrible proficient in turning the wrenches.

I will say that having an extra set of hands to lift the bumper into place will be very helpful. Also having an extra set of eyes and hands will be very helpful in adjusting for the final alignment before you "lock" the bumper in place.

I bought an angle grinder from Home Depot just for this project. I think it set me back about $35 total--including tax, the cutting disk, and flap disk.

I did my lift, and bumper, and sliders.

Sliders- easiest
Bumper- pretty easy, just make sure you put the bolts where they are suppose to go
Lift- moderate...just make sure your wheels are attached before you drive off

In all seriousness, I think if you have any idea on which way to turn a wrench and read directions. You will be fine, remember to touch up the frame horns after you cut them, "pin" the bumper when you finish and get it aligned and you are in good shape.

You could fit the ARB sahara bar with no mods or gaps.

I really like the all white. I have been thinking of doing my LC the same, with the removal of the trim color. That one turned out really nice.

can you tell me how and what you did to the ARB turn signals? I like that a lot, just LED bulbs or did you change the unit out?

thanks

What I used was Toyota Hilux 88-98 Altezza Front Bar Clear Light ebay # 110563013277 and 6 LED DRL White Day Running Lights such as ebay # 160456499058 which I have inserted inside the hilux lights, so this way you have the white led lights and orange/ amber turn signals all in one. And when they are off it just looks clear.

Here it is. Apparently the previous owner bent the frame, tow hook and a few other things because it took some grinding and pounding to get it on. But i love it; thanks Les.
