Grill looks great. Where did you get the Toyota logo? My valve covers were leaking as well. Check how tight all of your bolts are. They do not require much torque (something around 15 ft.lbs) My gaskets were in great shape, just turned out that all of my bolts were finger tight. Id also clean up the oil residue after tightening so you can see if it continues to leak.

Thanks for the info in the VCG. To answer your question, the Toyota emblem is off of a 60 series. I found it with a search on the EBay.

New RED leds for the front. Couldn't resist.

Nice! Did you go with the actual ARB or the "LED" brand off Amazon?

"LED" off Amazon. That ARB price is ridiculous. You know they're the same thing, right? There's a guy on here that swapped out the Red ring on these for the ARB and it matched up perfectly.

I figured. I'm frugal as well and find the ARB prices ridiculous for most things (bumpers are excluded). I just ordered the MAXSA Innovations tracks because they were $109 vs $400 for the MaxTrax. Anyway, let me know what you think of their output. I'm thinking of doing 3 on my front bumper once I settle on which one I want (I love your ARB Sahara, but want a full bullbar). I ordered the snorkel per our exchange a week or so ago. Looking forward to installing it.

@TurboTaco ... how you liking the LEDs? I'm nearing my purchase date (next week) and am looking at those and the Hella 700FF with 55w HID conversion. I didn't ask earlier: what wattage did you go with (96, 185 or 225)? Lastly, is this the one you went with?

Thanks again.

Those are them. I'll tell you that these LEDs will light up the night. I also have a light bar and have seen them work independently and together. The 185w Crees are incredibly bright and coupled with the light bar they are blinding. I'll snap some shots when I back from this business trip I'm on to try and illustrate.

So, I'm back from my business trip to Indy and went ahead and had Toyota of Dallas install a new OEM steering rack. It drives like new now. Wired up my rally lights and took some comparative pictures. The first pic is with headlights. Second, with the rally lights. Third with rally and light bars and last with the light at alone.

@TurboTaco ... sold! I'm definitely ordering those lights today. Would have been nice to have on my gravel adventure out near Junction this past Saturday. They should pair nicely with my Gamiviti light bar.

As an aside, how much was the steering rack? I'm getting close to needing one.

$1290 installed OEM.

So, after a bit of a hiatus, I have lifted my hundo. I went with Slee’s 2.5” loft with new torsion bars, UCAs, lower control arms, rebooted a CV axle and new tie rod ins. All of the work was done by Tandem Off Road in Haltom City, TX. Drives great so far on the 285s will be testing shortly.

@TurboTaco ... looks sweet! Did you do the diff drop? What about the upper control arms? I'm about to pull the trigger on the IronMan 2" lift and debating the UCAs and the diff drop. I recently replaced my axles with CVJ.

I did Slee’s diff drop and it is highly recommended that you do the UCAs as well. I did the SPC uppers on mine, which Inordered separately, to save a few coins, from the package I ordered from Slee. Christo can give you some great information if you call Slee and tell him what you’re wanting to do with your Cruiser. He helped me out tremendously by guiding me through what I needed to buy.

So a trip to Jambo this weekend was really eye opening. What a great time and I learned a lot about my rig. The OME lift has made the hundo very capable. I made my way through obstacles some FJs and 4Runner Trails with lifts had difficulty overcoming. I really have to get sliders and I’ll be pushing it a bit harder.

I’ll have some trail shots soon. My buddy has them and hasn’t got them to me yet...
