I've searched quite and found quite a few threads about the LSPV removal, but not many pictures of what I am looking for. Has anyone deleted the LSPV and replaced it with an adjustable proportioning valve in the stock location? I have seen a couple that put it under the hood near the MC, but I want to see if I can figure out a way to keep the highest percentage of stock brake lines as possible - i.e., I don't want to have to bend new brake lines more than I need to. Anybody have any success at putting in an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve that is more or less "bolt in"?

Thanks.

Check out this thread it is the one I used for the removal process LSPV delete

And for the proportioning valve check out Jose_fzj80 on Instagram. I forget his SN in here on Mud but he put a proportioning valve in on his setup.

@jcardona1 has a great thread here. Same guy you are talking about. Should be able to find it via search. I am on mobile or I would find it.

I didn't put in a proportioning valve when I did the LSPV and ABS delete. You may want to try it without to see if you feel you need one or not. I'm pleased with the brakes the way they are now.

I didn't either when I did mine and really enjoy how it drives/brakes now.

I also didn’t put a proportioning valve in when I deleted the LSPV. Bought one. Didn’t use it. Doubt you’ll need need one.

I'm under the impression that this mod works best if you run larger tires. How does the braking compare to OEM on stock-sized tires?

Also, any liability issues if you get in a wreck? I'm also assuming that insurance won't cover IF they find out that this mod was performed?

As far as stock with the ABS/LSPV delete I can not answer that question.

As with braking and other issues. Just like driving any large rig, you should allow for more braking distance. I have locked up the brake on purpose and I have also had to slam on the brakes because someone flipped a u-turn in front of me. Had I not done this mod I might have killed the girl. She turned 10-15 feet in front of me as I was traveling at 45.

I disabled my LSPV on 265 tires initially. It worked wonders. Now I'm on 315 tires.

I find it highly improbable that any insurance adjuster would know that the truck had an LSPV to begin with or would know the difference by looking over the truck. Deleting ABS, on the other hand, might be more likely to get noticed.

I removed my LSPV and replaced it with a union. There are three lines running to the LSPV: feed line, "sense" line, and output to axle. The sense line detects when pressure has been lost to the front brakes and will activate full pressure to rear brakes. I removed the sense line running from the MC to the LSPV and used the fittings to make a plug for where the sense line attached to the MC. Braking performance has been fantastic without the LSPV. If you follow Jose's thread, he installed a Wilwood proportioning valve but ended up setting it to wide open. With the valve to wide open, it doesn't do any proportioning between front and rear.

I was convinced to remove my LSPV when a car cut me off in a parking lot and I could not stop quick enough. Even jamming on the brakes I came to a gradual stop and inches from smashing into their car. Braking is confident, consistent, and quite powerful without the LSPV.

BTW, I still have my ABS but it is not functioning right now. I haven't pulled codes to find out why.

They wont know until the investigation, particularly if there is a death. I had this long discussion with my own insurance guy.

What did he say would happen if they found it during the investigation? Not to be considered legal advice of course.
