I am confident we will see it settle down per earlier post(s) and my 30" Toyos were intentionally selected as street / winter rain tires for a DD.

Another set of steelies and some 32" or 33" KMIIs for summer fun are likely.

I feel like Glodilocks... :)

I like manly tyres...:grinpimp:

Pizza cutters are for cutting pizzas....:flipoff2:
You can expect legal action from NAFTAOPCT. (National Association For The Advancement Of Pizza Cutter Tires)

You may need to change your thoughts on this. Pizza usually calls for   so pizza cutters logically bring more excuses to have  :)

ON EDIT: I can do a good enough job looking like an idiot by myself, I do not need your help freakin' Apple AutoCorrect .... :bang:

Charles -
Don't be too hard on the Old Guy (Dan) - he appears to have issues. Just remember that bonnet protectors only go to good boys :)

Yes, you do a fine job of that Sam :)

Just stopping by to keep track of the madness of this build. I love it.
Tor and his crew are really good at this sort of creative build. Creates trust to take risks and do "mad" things :)

INTERIOR UPDATE

Top and rear door top halves off and on their way to the interior shop so Carl can replace headliner, fill some holes, refresh side window runs and tint the windows.

He will paint the new windshield frame and remount w/s glass. When the truck is running Carl's the guy who will put it back together, finish off the interior - marine grade carpets, paint interior metal, etc.

UPDATES / UPGRADES

Progress continues. Vitaly is rewiring the truck as Tor works through project management and those messy little details. Some examples:

Top off, wiring under way.

UPDATE - SUSPENSION UPDATE

The work continues. Vitaly has the chassis rewired and the engine turns over. New rad is in hand and with fluids, the LS will wake up sometime soon. The RFP top has been patched (old radio mount hole) and painted, along with new W/S frame painted and glass installed.

As some of you know, Georg and I have brought in eight Terrain Tamer suspension kits as test cases Five of those have been installed, including the new gear on my 73. Reports are good, with Onur's 70 having the most miles on so far - both highway and trail.

One question as with other brands, is "how much lift and how soon/much will it settle." I was not looking for a lot of lift, preferring something close to the advertised 2+" from stock. The Burrito's OEM springs at 30 years of hard use were pretty flat (not a great ride) so I wasn't surprised to see quite a difference following the installation - especially given an all aluminum engine and no fluids. For those of you with a stock 70 Series considering a "lifestyle lift" here are some before/after snaps.

BEFORE
Flat OEM springs with 3B installed, rolling on 30" rain tires. Clearance from tire to fender lip is estimated/from memory.

AFTER
Soon after kit was installed. V8 installed but no fluids, radiator, batteries, etc. A little high in front...

AFTER PART TWO
Here is the truck after sitting for a while. We will pull leaf #3 from each pack and expect a couple inches of drop due to that and normal settling-in. Addition of fluids and a winch up front will likely give a little more rake. Tor has a similar kit from another manufacturer and his rear measures 7" from the fender lip to the top of his 32" tires as below right. I think we will be close.

FUTURE SUMMER SET-UP
The 30" Toyos are intended for Winter road/rain use. CDan hooked me up with some non-USA OEM 80 Series rims (8x16) to mount some BFGs down the road for Summer use. Here is a sample below on Dan's 74 - these tires measure out to around 32" though the specs say 33.1". OEM steelies with the KMIIs - giving an inch of rim width over the 7" steelies mounting Winter tires, extending the outer edge of the larger tires - spreading the stance of these narrow rigs a bit. Same "Brand X" suspension and lift as Tor. Thanks for the help, Dan!

Perhaps Sam can recommend the same brand of stepladder he uses on that giant Dodge truck.

I think the results will be very, very similar to your former BJ74 Charles..... Did you need a stepladder?

Well I do seem to be shrinking as I age.

Regarding aging....at least you remember that you owned that truck... :rimshot:
Only because Sam reminded me of that fact when he started his new thread. :)
Until then, I was wondering why one of garage bays was empty.
