The time has come to part with my 2006 Lx470. I am the second owner and the car currently has 152,534 miles on it. I had planned on converting thi to an overland rig once something major went wrong, but I have been blessed with a 4th child and I just don’t think this will work for my plans and what I will need to carry, so it sadly is time to part ways.
It’s cypress pear exterior with the beige/grey two tone interior which is very clean overall but not perfect. It has scratches/dents and paint chips as well as some very minor areas of peeling clear coat (near the rear passenger side window, around the antenna) and small surface rust spots. The AHC has also unfortunately failed, and rather than diagnose/fix or change the suspension, I have decided that I will let the new owner decide what to do with the suspension so they can make this truck their own. The AC has also unfortunately stopped blowing cold air recently and I suspect it is the compressor. My plan with that was to do the compressor at the next timing belt/water pump change. The car is very well documented from the previous owner and had the water pump/timing belt changed at about 75,000 miles by the previous owner. The only other issue I have set with was a cam shaft position sensor that was also replaced by Lexus about a year after I bought it. Other than that, it has been routine maintenance with oil/filter changes.
It has a full set of winter wheels/tires on Toyota steel wheels that have been rattle can painted bronze/copper but for sure could use a refresh. It has the original Lexus branded rubber mats as well as the rear Lexus branded carpet and Lexus branded cargo net. It also has a set of catch-all carpeted mats for the front and second row. Third row jump seats are present and work great. Frame has been amateur coated with por 15 when I moved to Albany given the winter we have here. There is some surface rust (I have videos of the underside I can send) on some of the replaceable components but overall it is extremely solid
Overall:
The good
-low mileage for the year
-beautiful color that still shows very well
-winter wheel/tire setup
-info center/climate control screen functions perfectly
-original soundtrack to Batman (the one with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson) on tape available for the right price to make ideal use of the tape deck. Also have a tape deck adaptor with a 3.5mm jack I will include!
-two original keys (one is cracked and has been repaired)
The not so good
-AHC is out in the rear and the fluid reservoir is dry
-AC does not blow cold
-TPMS sensors need to be rebuilt (didn’t do it the last time the tires were changed)
-missing 1 stock wheel center cap and one is cracked
