Hello~

Located in Orange County.

I really have not followed values on LX470 models. I'll list this for $21k to start.

I've decided to part ways with my beloved LX470. I particularly sought out the 06-07 model LX for my needs after long term ownership of a 99 LC that my wife, dogs and I used to tour and camp through as much of Death Valley as we could.

The LX470 was chosen as the replacement for our 100LC due to the AHC system and how well it handles the miles and miles of washboard roads on the way to our favorite destinations - Ballarat via Trona, South to Goler Wash and the gateway Butte Valley, Lotus Mine, Newman's Cabin, Barker Ranch (where Charlie Manson was captured), Mengel Pass and finally, the Geologist Cabin, Russell's Camp, Stella's Cabin, my dear friend Emmet Harder's cabin and claim, and of course the amazing, inexplicable Butte in the Valley. We enjoyed following the Tonopah and Tidewater rail line, visiting and exploring around Cerro Gordo and ultimately spending 4 weeks of that trip at the Caretaker's cabin and the Burgess Mine on an extended 6 week trip during COVID where we both we able to "WFH aka Work From Home" using Tesla's Starlink system.
Well - enough reminiscing...Here's why I'm selling:

In the past year I was in a severe auto accident and came away with some nerve damage in my left arm and right leg, and as a result, attempting to sleep anywhere other than my own bed is impossible for now. Adding to this, my wife and I just had to put one of our dogs down that we spent the past 14 years traveling to Death and Panamint Valley with, and it seems like now is the time to make some changes to our week/weekend adventure strategy.

I will recover, but life for me will be significantly different and will be looking for something for our adventures that someone else will work on and with a warranty. No idea what that is maybe a new LC250/GX550 or Grenade-ier. My wife says get a Rivian since we do have a 250v 9500w Generator that we have used in the past for charging an EV while vehicle testing on previous road trips (I work for an OEM that makes EVs, unfortunately nothing they make is really Death Valley appropriate)...so I've narrowed it down to those few vehicles as alternatives.

About this LX470
  • 2006
  • Spent all of it's life in a garage. All the black trim shows as new or close to it. I've replaced a lot of them too while the Yen/Dollar exchange rate was favorable, with parts coming from IMPEX
  • Flawless AHC with new globes and fresh fluid
  • Zero rust, Zero! Florida and California it's whole life
  • 265,000 miles
  • TRD Pro BBS Rims with Motorsports Tech spacers - 1.25" front and 1" rear, less than 10k miles on them
  • Also will come with the 06 stock LX wheels and tires that are well over the "best by" date. The rim paint is thin and some of the black basecoat is showing through...but balance perfectly and look nice still without any noticeable curb rash.
  • Tons of new stuff, AHC globes, shock bushings, nearly every bushing replaced in the suspension
  • It does leak a bit of oil, mostly from the cam covers. It's not enough to drip overnight but it is not completely leak free.
  • I do have a Teyes head unit that I can install if you prefer, I had it installed and removed it while gathering parts for the Nav/Climate conversion to the standard ROW setup so any head unit could be used.
  • I have replacement stock rear springs, a steering intermediate shaft (current one has some play in the u-joint, and replacement rear upper links to install still and this rig should be near-perfect

Maintenance and Updates that I did, other than having a local Land Cruiser expert do the timing belt kit, that resulted in a leak that should be an easy fix related to the cam seals, it's not leaky enough to drip overnight so I haven't focused on it

The list below is a copy/paste from my iOS notes, so there may be some duplicates, I've tried to edit it to remove any of those, but happy to answer any and all questions that may come up.

There are a few negatives:
1. The Right Rear door has a scrape that is on the trim and paint. When I bought this sight unseen, this was not disclosed. I was livid at the time it arrived, but it's not noticeable unless you focus on it. I have not tried to buff it or do anything, surprisingly it does not bother me.
2. The exterior cladding is showing fading. While I believe this LX has been garage kept nearly it's entire life, these trim pieces are fading. If I am unable to sell it here I'll touch it up with the Duplicolor BTY1617 OEM matched paint at some point, but again...it's not horrible, just not new looking.

The 'scrape' I mentioned, I do think this could be buffed out, but I haven't bothered.
