So I guess we are all just waiting on Benke to stop puking and post up some specifics?

Last year David (ProINV) was talking about bringing his boat and anchoring it on the inlet side of the beach. Did that seem like a viable option, or is bringing a boat kind of a hassle?

Jeremy

While I liked the first one. I do see the point in having it where you can camp and drive all in the same place. I don't remember where we got Hunting Island from. Maybe Chuck made the suggestion? Would be a good idea to find the whole reason we did the boil in the first place and keep that in our history. I'm sure we will sit back 10 or 20 years from now and remember those first couple trips. This is just the beginning of something good.

Plenty to do with a boat - yes I think you could anchor in the corner if we got we were able to go all the way to the end of the beach again. Problem is, no place to lock your trailer down. If you could find some place to keep it inland- can't drag it down the beach, sand is tough pulling. Maybe rent a state park camping site that is close by and stow it there. OR a local storage lot with weekend rates.

I think the boat might be a hassle for just a weekend. I really wanted to set some crab pots like I did in Hunting. I caught the biggest stone crab I have ever seen down there. It was the size of a football, the claw I pulled off was the size of a lobster.

I'll just bring some crab lines for the beach and surf rods.

Does anyone want to go in together on a couple of Kayaks. I figure you wouldn't want to paddle on them all the time, and we could split the rental.

If it is cheaper to pick them up, I can throw them in the bed and haul them down for anyone.

I may want to do that. What were you thinking? single or double? Cost?

I was thinking about a single set up for fishing and a double set up for family, like wife and kid maybe.

What you think?

Jeremy

I'd be up for a double. It's just my wife and I coming.

I am working on some stuff now.

They can do a double for $55 delivered at the paved road, and a single for $45 for the weekend.

At that rate it might just be better to get what you want and I 'll get what I want.

I can help get anyones boat to the campsite if they need it.

If anyone is interested in a 3 hour guided tour, he will do a group of 10 with all the gear for $35 a head. I assume that is the same even if you share a boat.

PM me if anyone is interested as he is putting some other packages together as well.

The boat was a hassle for me that year. Way to much stuff going on with the whole event to really enjoy it for 2 days. Though sitting out in the marsh with Bob fishing while laying on the boat, drinking beer and listening to Bob Marley was worth it. Even if it was for only an afternoon.

I hear you on the stone crab. That was very cool. We had 4 in one pot. That was a record for me.

Chuck with our bounty we added to the boil that night.

Looks like you need a CRFL to fish on the coast and possibly an inland license as well if you want to fish the creek. I will ask Will at the Kayak store if we need both to do some creek fishing or if the inland license is just like a SC freshwater license.

a 10 day pass is $10 for each, and you can do it online. I am pretty sure you can do it at a bait shop, but it will take a lot longer.

You don't need a license to catch crabs and shrimp with traps, but if you plan to cast or drag nets you need one.

I'm in if this is still Oct 8-10, I have the Fri-Mon off.
Is the date set?
