I recently purchased a very low mileage 2002 LX470 with 24,930 miles on it.
It now has around 26.5K miles. I was wondering how many low mileage
examples are around and what TLC have you had to do to them. Mine did come with
a new set of Michelin tires. Since I have owned my LX470 I have had:
- Lexus dealership check out a check engine light - 2hrs just diagnosing
- I ordered a MAF off Ebay and installed it.
- Modified the Nav display so it will play DVD movies while driving.
- Installed a Trailer Hitch and wired it for a Trailer Brake Controller
- Noted that there is a leak with the rear brake light.
- Noted that the Steering Wheel shaft assembly might be a little loose.
Drives sweet. I do hear a very slight rumble but think it could just be road noise.
I do hear the Engine at a stoplight especially when the AC compressor turns on.
Still not completely sure the OBD2 Long Term Fuel Trims are right - see a lot of
variation while driving but at steady speed at no load stays well under 5%. I'm
a newbie as to what LTFT's are supposed to look like.
Other than that, I feel like I am driving in a time machine going back 10-14 years.
The old girl must have been sitting around in somebody's garage and rarely driven.
