I had this exact thing. Front pinion. Pinion seal was leaking and was 1:00 am and wasnt thinking. Put the nut on with a impact. Took 50# to just TURN my yoke. Luckily, i was already regearing soon or id have been somewhere with a grenaded diff.

Funny someone should bump this thread as my truck is with Ryan at @OTRAMM as we speak, since I gave up and just dealt with the sound for a good 1.5 years since I started this thread haha. If it helps anyone, I haven't picked up the truck yet but he just replaced both front/rear driveshafts with OEM and said it is significantly quieter now. Will update when I get the truck back if anyone is curious.

I have greased them and I have noticed that I am leaking grease out of my front passenger side hub. From what my research has been telling me is that I may have a worn pinion gasket.
Pinion seals don't make you leak grease. You leak gear oil.
How's the diff oil level? Your axle seals could be leaking gear oil into the knuckles which makes a soup and leaks out the felts.

Pinion bearing on my taco in the rear when I had a hum like you describe

I had this same problem, in addition to occasional clunking when putting the truck into drive/reverse.

For reference, this is a great thread for problem identification:
Drive Shaft PM and Drive Train Troubleshooting- For FAQ

As expected, my problems turned out to be my driveline. I'm already running part-time so the issue was my rear drive shaft. I took it into a local driveline shop and they said my u-joints were loose and the shaft itself was twisted. They re-tubed the shaft, installed new u-joints and rebalanced it. Since I was already into it, I had them do the front shaft too, as PM.

In addition to curing my clunk and "grr" when decelerating, the truck just feels smoother overall. Maybe I just got used to the vibration caused by the driveline. Rebalancing is something I think should be done/checked as PM at least occasionally, and more often if your truck sees severe service conditions.
