what? another 1997 Lexus LX450 that wants one?, count me in. :)

1 mold will work on both soft or hard ceiling it is only a difference of how much opening will have to be trimmed. Hard ceiling bigger opening.

Yan,
What do you mean by opening being trimmed?
Also count me in for one black or gray doesn't matter.

I sent drawings to a couple of plastic shops and now i am waiting on price quotes.

I will keep you guys posted.

Awesome.. looks like the perfect place to mount my CB or ham radio!

I also could not care less about the color. ! ;)
Rust-oleum makes a perfect match paint for my interior in a spray can.. So i'll paint it to match anyhow!
I'd say go with whatever plastic colour is easierst/cheapest.. etc..

COUNT ME IN FOR 1

Can we all agree to go with the lowest cost production color, ie a single option since any color we get won't match any of our interiors?? Please????

Sure. As long as its Oak :flipoff2:

This is what always gets these group buys all screwed up. "I'll take one if....." Can't we all just get along:flipoff2:

I don't really care what color it is (grey would be preferred of course!), as long as I can paint it to match. I know someone has the color codes/types of paint that work that they will share with the group...

I am assuming that the headliner has to be cut in the center.:meh:

Why would the headliner need to be cut?

Why would the headliner need to be cut?

Kinda doubting this also, if it needed to be cut why would he need to know about the two different types.

Everyone shelf model I've seen is a bolt on for the 70 Series, The only cutting is to trim the shelf here and there.

I did lots of searching and center consoles 80 series and shelf consoles for 70 series are really common. Every manufacturer has it mount to things like the screw mounts for the visors, grab handles, lights etc.

The space looks good for mounting a radio too and there are several mods threads in forums where guys have tacked together mounts that hang radios from the brackets the lights bolt to.

I made my own overhead aluminum, vinyl covered support to mount my cb, altimeter, outdoor temp gauge, map lights etc and used the factory bolt locations in my 73 series.

This I think is a better solution for the 80. You could mount speakers, additional map lights, switch panel ........

I'm in also.

Love to have an overhead and move the CB there along with HAM at some point
