I am working on bringing this guy in next couple of month.

What you guys think?
I would get one if it is large enough to fit a Cobra 29 CB. Here are the Cobra 29 dimensions:
Height: 2.13"
Width: 7.25"
Length: 8.75" (Plus about 1-2" for cables out the rear.)

Even if the face of the CB needs to stick out a bit to work I would go for that. Very nice looking.

Akella,

Looks like a market. My fingers are crossed!

X2 on the Oak. What is the material?

I've used fabric paints with great success. I'm sure it can be dyed or painted. Fiber New does work like this and duplicolor has the paint.

Cheers,

John

WOW you guys really like to keep me busy.

As soon as i have more information i will create separate thread and will post all the updates/progress there.

So far i know it will be Grey color and it will be easy to be painted in tan.

Also i need to know how many of us have hard(later model) or soft(earlier model) ceiling.

Hard Ceiling- Grey

Depends on the material on how the paint will look. AKELLA, do you know the material?

Unfortunately i dont know the exact material yet.

My ceiling is hard masonite-like material covered in thin sponge and velour. Standard modern headliner. I guess this would be considered a hard ceiling as compared to the soft headliner say an old VW would have.

Hard Ceiling - Oak (can paint)

Grey, and I have a 93, so I assume it is the soft ceiling. I don't actually know.

I'm in for one of these also.

95, grey, hard ceiling.

Looks like a cool spot to put the HAM radio right in the center as it looks like dead space?
