FYI some people have replaced their head units with other options (like tesla units) and if it was me and the head unit is the issue.. i would go the tesla route vs replacing the prehistoric O
I hear ya, I tried going the OEM route when I had replaced the multi display to no avail.

I have removed my rear entertainment so a Tesla screen may be in my future.
I just want to be able to play my radio at this point.

The LC should look pretty sweet with the tint when I pick it up here shortly.

On another note, when did LYFT and UBER become so expensive?
They wanted VEGAS prices to take me 9 miles to work.
Luckily the guy doing the tint was able to give me a ride saving me $50/$70!

The shop plugged in their unit and ran a bunch of tests.
No codes came up.

They are a little puzzled but offered to pull it apart.
I am now debating the next move here.

The saga continues...

Does that mean the shop unit worked or did not work?

UPDATE Y"ALL:
I dropped my LC off again at the dealer Sunday night to finally get this solved once and for all.
They still have the vehicle and have contacted Toyota directly.

I am waiting to hear back now, but am assuming we are going to replace the receiver.
They couldn't tell me how long they are going to have it but luckily gave me a loaner free of charge.

Should hear back today, really looking to get this resolved and hopefully this can help someone with the same problem in the future.

Any chance you are looking at the wrong component? The radio screen is one part, but there is also the unit that drives it. Kind of like a desktop computer: the computer itself and the monitor. I haven't followed this thread very closely, but I've seen the screen part mentioned but not the other part.View attachment 2819676
The dealer is replacing this unit next.

It is as you described the master.
I've looked at so many diagrams at this point, I just want them to do the job and be done with.

Will know in a few days or so if indeed this solves the issue once and for all!

I will say this...
I had to go without the cruiser for the past two days and damn did I miss driving it!

Sometimes you don't know how good you got it!

Thanks for all the help guys.

Great news indeed! Did you have to buy this out of warranty? Curious to know the cost on it.

I'm assuming that the dealer replaced the Pioneer multimedia module (receiver assembly): Toyota Part# 8680460f70

Would you please confirm this? Thanks a bunch.

Yes out of warranty.
Shy of 2K.

Correct.
We tried the MFD screen first with no luck.

Considering even after "discounted" pricing it is usually over 7 grand, I'd say you got a deal! 😀
Geez! It better come with a 72” 8k Sony tv. 🤣 It’s amazing how much these headunits cost.

Yes, dumb question here. How did you manage to find that part # for $2k? Did Toyota goodwill part of the cost?
From my experience, the dealership has the only direct line with the manufacturer (Pioneer?) for the unit.

They rebuild them so my core was part of this "discount".

I knew I shouldn't have posted the cost... commence ball busting.:D:D

I think it's good reference for future folks who might experience a similar failure. I'm shocked you managed to "only" spend a couple grand. I could be wrong but I'd wager many other dealers would have told their customer, sorry it's $7k + labor (or more). Stinks it failed but I think you came out alright considering worst case scenario.

This part is now $9k discounted

Pricing for some Toyota parts is flat insane. Sometimes I wonder if they **** with customers for fun. Then some are very reasonable....
