I stopped by my local hobby shop this morning, and found out that Tamiya has repopped and reissued the 1/24th scale 80 series. i bought the one they had in stock for about $25.00. They are going to restock, so if anyone is interested i could start finding out when they arrive.....

Hey Mike, its the entire tamiya kit, not just the body. it's a 1/24 scale model. I'll try to get to the hobby shop and ask them if they would do some sort of group buy.

I picked one of these up myself today and I am debating on whether to build it as a model or as a micro RC. I think if I can find some of the "Tamiya Sport Springs" Then I am just going to build it up to match my 1:1 80. We shall see I guess.

It appears I forgot to update this with the info i got from the hobby shop. Apparently, i got the tamiya model for their cost, not what their "regular" price should be. The price the owner quoted me with shipping would not have been practical for a group buy. Sadly, he lost a chance to make a few bucks on 5 or 10...
