driving to work this moring and a small toyota pickup pulled right out in front of me. i didnt even have time to hit the brakes. she's probably totalled but still a lot better off than that pickup..... and i was going to get that ARB bumper next month!
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it was listed as their fault and you can get a new cruiser with Lockers. Then you can buy the old one after its totaled and part it out.
Glad no one was injured (My assumption since you didn't say anything)
Depending on who your insurance is with, they usually give blue book. Which is pretty much always way more then the vehicle is actually worth. Glad no one's hurt.
the arb is cheaper than a new oem bumper. in the case of my brother's 91 it was a tercel that pulled out in front. must be some need of toyotas to come together.
They totaled out my 91 for something like $8900, Don't quote me but I think that is correct. Mine was in really good shape with 134000 miles or some where there abouts.
There is a cruiser guy up here name Mark whatley and he told me to never turn it over to the insurance, Someone will always pay more for it than them, In fact I need to go see if he bought my wreck. He said there were four cruiser head ons this year that he knew about. All but my truck the folks drove home. I think mine would have to but I got taken away. For what it is worth.
I so agree on the ARB, I have a Slee list going, I think with the bumper, the truck comes home to.
no not yet i will post pics as soon as i am able to. it happened early this morning so and was raining all day so i didnt want to take the digital camera in the rain. its really amazing what it did to his little truck compared to my LC. the damage to the LC was still pretty bad but nothing compared to what it did to that truck. the entire front end of the truck was pushed in, cant imagine what it would of looked like with an ARB in its grill! if only i had quit putting it off and gone ahead and gotten one!
92,
definitely keep the salvage if you can.
I rolled my 91 over prior to getting my 92 and retained the salvage. lost 1500 for the salvage value on the truck and lost out on 800 for the taxes the insurance was going to pay but then sold it for 2700. after I robbed the lift and tires and the bull bar from it.
Dave
the insurance company of the guy who was in the other vehicle (who was at fault) paid me $8100 for the LC. i think i came up pretty well concidering it had 182k on it and it was almost 13 years old. i sure do hate to see it go though, its been in the family for many years.
little over a year ago, we got $8900($9400 before buying the cruiser back) for our 88 fj62 with 340,000 on it and we got to keep it(salvage title) But they looked at the local market.........only 62s at that time for sale were 10K lots more fj80's around then 62's.
