As with any old vehicle....you will find rust unless you purchase out of the southwest or somewhere that doesn't use salt on the roads or close to the ocean. 60/62's front fenders, rear fenders boxed sections of the frame over the rear axle, and last but not least, the upper rear shock mount.
Of course, TLC's can be a little over priced, so I would suggest looking for a good price that you can repair. That's what I did, but I can do 99% of the work myself.
I have looked at a 60, not sure of the year, that has a great body and frame. Only rust that I could find is on the lower tailgate. Even has a/c. The motor was in the process of being replaced(for the last 5 yrs).
Down side is that I don't know how much he wants for it. He also has two 60's for parts, he wants to make a package deal.
If you are serious, I can get you a price and some picks of all three and email them to you. If you like'em I'll forward his number to you.
I didn't buy them, because I wanted his fj55, but it needed too much work. I couldn't decide between a 40 or a 55.....I'm looking for a 40 now.
Let me know what you think.
