Hi All - I'm close to selling my current car (couple weeks - month) and am starting to do some looking for a new one. Looking for a 1989 FJ62. My budget is 40k max but targeting something around 25-30k. Main preference is no rust. I'm located in SoCal but open to purchasing across the United States. Keeping an eye on BAT and FB Marketplace but figured I'd put some feelers out.

SOLD Thread 'Salt Lake City, UT 1988 FJ62'

1988 Land Cruiser FJ62

Clean title in hand I have owned this FJ62 for 3 years and have spent that time working to get the Land Cruiser baselined and reliable while keeping it as original as possible. Its not perfect, but it’s a good honest example of a classic FJ62.

We had our first kid in January and sadly it’s time for something more modern.

The good stuff:
• Runs, drives, and stops great.
• All automatic windows work, some are slow but they work
• Auto locks work some (most?) of the time
• Interior is in good shape with the exception of the driver side seat...

Hi I have a 1989 fj62 I am in the process of converting the front to a fj62 round lights complete front end change . I have a California clean title passed smog just a month ago because I paid registration renewal. Drives great I have leather seat covers I also have original wheels with original Toyota caps . Mostly everything is original I did change the bumpers to the original not in these pictures. The power windows work power mirrors work and working on locks for doors now . I just changed shocks out a little while ago. I have new billet rear vent covers I plan on putting on soon . Please let me know if you’re interested. I am located in Sacramento area.

Are you looking for a very manageable project rig? I have a working 1990 FJ62, just haven't gotten projects done.. but considering removing the roof rack to address some minor rust at pillar, and has 1 other body panel area of rust. But, the frame and rest of the rig is essentially California rust-free. Always starts. OEM. Has about 210K miles. Always passes CA smog. Has brand 2 brand new Magnaflow catalytic converters. Has the Speedhut Vintage dash gauge upgrade. ARB front bumper, newly powdercoated, and not reinstalled yet, still wrapped in foam. Needs minor rust repair, and whole rig could use new paint, which I'm planning on doing soon, if I decide to keep it. Has electrical wiring/switch and trays (Stainless Trays) for dual battery system, but only 1 main driving battery installed. New alternator, just done. Just lots of small-medium unfinished projects. Many of which, I have the parts, but haven't had the time, due to health and family issues, to address. No pics yet, but here's a video from a few years ago... runs great frankly.
