Would you guys consider this horrible rust for a 2000 lx?
Should I stay away,it has 118000 miles on it,timing belt water pump replaced at 115000.
They were asking 13000, I got them down to 11500,any input would be appreciated.

I wouldn't want it, but I live in Texas and don't see any rust. If you're in a rusty area, maybe that's normal???

That's not normal for regions that apply salt/sand for icy roads. I've lived in the Northeast my entire life and generally don't mind rust here and there, but that's pretty excessive. The 3rd picture with the rust eating through the fuel tank cover says it all. Pass.

Thanks for everyone's input,I thought it was pretty bad. I was hoping yous we're going to tell me it was normal (wishful thinking)because it was close to me and I have been looking for a while.

Mine has less rust than that and I've had to become quite adept at drilling and tapping - I'd not touch that one.

If I were living in the North East again and looking for a 15 year old truck I would look in a state where they don't have rust and plan on a oneway plane ticket and a road trip.

My often voiced opinion here is.... A. you can't polish a turd B. rust is like herpes it can be controlled but not cured and you don't want it , C. You have a choice not to have it D. you will be much happier without it. (back to the herpes thing)
