Is anyone willing to spend an hour or so helping me out with looking at a winch on c-list for Sante Fe? I've never used one, my knowledge is more..... theoretical than practical. I hope to change this though. Anyway, here's a link to the one I'd like to check out. I'm sure lots of people have seen this one for sale so I likely dont run too much of risk posting a link for the winch I could buy.

Warn Winch

I can trade your time for one of my projectile points which I've made out of a local obsidian to Northern NM.

P.S. I'm not a HDC member but might be one in the near future....

while they are not the same thing exactly (line speed etc)... depends on how much and for what youa re going to use it... but you can buy a warn m8k for that price new from amazon... free shipping with prime... just saying...

send a PM to 2manycruisers, David as he lives in SF.

That winch is my favorite style of winch and it's a work horse of a winch. The price is high for my taste but I bet David can give you real low down.

That doesn't look like an M8K.

It looks more like an 8274...an epic winch. Not sure how tough it would be to put onto an ARB on a 60 though.

Greetings from north of you... :)

An 8274 will fit an old-style 60 ARB bumper if you do some cutting. The PO of my 60 did exactly that. PM or email me if you need pictures of what's cut!

I think this is a very nice winch. Naturally it would need to work really well to be worth $500 but they go for close to $1500 new so check it out.
