My roof is beginning to get pretty crusty, at all the pillars. Had no visible rust up there when I bought it - three years later it's beginning to flourish, and I'm weighing the option of repairing vs replacing. Clean roofs seem to be available here in the south west, but I haven't found a thread that really details the process, so I'm not sure what's involved beyond the obvious.
Does anyone know of any threads with photos or information about this process?
I've found a few relevant threads with some good photos of the 60's roof construction, but wonder if there's additional info about best places to cut the pillars, saving the headliner, whether additional support is needed after the new roof is welded, methods to ensure accuracy when locating new roof, etc etc. Maybe this doesn't exist, but if it did it would be useful!
