Not a bull bar - just a bumper mounted damage multiplier. Believe Manik manufactures them. I see them on ebay a lot and also in the ih8mud parts for sale section. You might search that section for "brushguard" or "manik".

As MOJ said, it is not a bull bar, just a POS brushguard, it will ensure extra damage to your vehicle if you ever bump anything with it. For instance, if you have a minor accident and bump into a vehicle with it instead of just smashing you bumper, that thing will get pushed back and also take out your hood, and both fenders.
You can find some "real" bullbar/bumpers at www.sleeoffroad.com , also look in the faq, there is probably a thread on bumpers there.

You are better off not wasting your money on a Manik Brush guard. I would just save for an ARB or Slee bumper. I bet you could find a non winch ARB for $550.

I went on slee's web site andI saw a few but is there anyone that sells a nicer unit I want the functionality but also the protection. I saw dozens in my Jap Hyperrev magazine but they would cost alot to import. any other good-looking sturdy options:confused:

yes I saw those but I'm looking for something that looks like the one in my ebay link but with sturdiness to match :crybaby:

There is no such thing.

It does not exist!!!!! Any other than a true bumper will be a damage multiplier. Do not waste your money. If you don't have enough for something better, wait till you do.
Cheers,
Sean

MTNRAT Are you saying that all the one's avail in Japan are damage multipliers? If so...the only durable ones are on slee's website.?

Hi Skunk - What the guys are trying to say is that it's not a question of sturdiness, it's a design/concept thing. Once the design of the bumper extends up over the lights/fenders/hood, it becomes a damage multipler. As Sean states, you won't find it because it's opposing design goals.

The brush guard is putting fashion design over function, it should have never been invented.

No problem and welcome to the board. It's truely a great place to learn about everything cruiser. One of my best finds.

To be honest, an ARB is the closest thing for style but with a design goal on sturdiness. Please remember, ARBs are engineered and made in a country where risks can be life threatening. Hitting a 200lb kangaroo at 120Km/h in a hot desert where no-one will find you for hours or days is a reality for all who travel around Oz. ARB does a good job with the sex appeal, as a secondary goal... this is your best option according to your bumper criteria.

Cheers.

Not a great pic, but something like this was available in Japan, too (not quite as sturdy as ARB, but...).

Just an F.Y.I.
