looking for stock tire size on a 1977 fj45 16inch split rim

I'm getting my stock split rims back and I'm looking for the same type of tires from the factory that came with them. Size , tread, trying to keep it real.

750/16 dunlop road gripper is what comes out on all Australian commercial landcruisers. Around the late 70's they where called super gripper but dunlop changed the name but used the same tread pattern.

Thanks for the information oz I will do some research here in Ontario and see if they have something close to stock

No worries mate there not cheap tyres they cost around $300 each downunder. Most people in OZ take them off and buy sunnies with balloon type tyres. They normaly go on ebay and can be picked up with rims for around $100 each.

Original tire for your truck would have been a Dunlop Powersnow 7.5x6, I still have 4 of them - weatherchecked though!

LT285-85/R16 is close to the original 7.5x16. I bought a used set off of kijiji, they look good.

Another option is the Yokohama Y742S. The tread is really close to the Dunlop Powersnows, and they come in 7.50/16. Not widely available, but they are out there.
