Please give me your best recommendations on guys that are good in gear installs for an 80 series LC. Have gears and ARB's to have put in but want it done right the first time.

I've heard of Russ at Baer Tracks, but not sure if he's still doing these.

What about Ft. Worth Gear and Axle?

Anybody use the off road shop, (can't think of the name) in Plano that's on Plano Pkwy just down the street from Fry's, north side of road? Expert Offroad or something like that?

Looking for who you would consider the best.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Expert Offroad is no longer there but a company has risen up in the last 6-8 months around the same location called A/T Fab. They charge $320 to set up a third member. I can't speak of how well they set up gears but that is how much they charge.

Russ at Baertrax has done tons of folks that I know's gears and everyone is real happy with his work. Dunno how much he charges.

Russ is awesome

+3 on Russ (BaerTrax). Does awesome careful work, has set up a jillion gears and knows how to do it right. Plus, he and Christy are supporters of the local Cruiser community, donate stuff and attend the Roundup, Jambo, etc. Couldn't go wrong there.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll be checking with these folks.

I'm sure it would seem like a huge boost in power to finally put in the correct gears for these 35" tires.

Russ hands down!!!!

He & Christy are great folks who support the community but also give back contributing to events & helps folks out on the trail!!!

................................ Think of it like this.....

IF you have a issue would you rather try to get it fixed by someone folks don't know or someone we all respect & trust:idea:

Russ did some work on my 40 and i was very pleased.

You might PM CruisinFJ60 (aka Trent). He has a contact that sets up gears.

Nick

yup, buddy of mine does it and does a good job of it. he has set of a few peoples gears now with no issues.
Toyotas are reasonably easy to set up too.
