Looking for old school round H3 55W fog lights, Hella etc. It seems these are no longer available from Hella (the Comet 550 I think it was) and I'm not finding any others out there... anyone know of anything, any source? I know I can add yellow/gold bulbs to clear fogs but I was hoping for the full yellow deal...

And I had a couple of sets that I sold a few years back! (SEE, THIS IS WHY I TELL MY WIFE I SHOULD NEVER SELL ANYTHING)

Thanks,
mark

You could get some Hella 500's and the yellow stick-on laminate kit.

Ken,
Do you have any experience with those? I have a pair of the clear 500 fogs...

And Colo... thanks for the links... I had seen those - I like the Bosch maybe...

I've had a few sets long ago, they are not the most durable lights, but they are not very expensive. I had trouble with the reflective material coming off the back of the lenses. The plastic housings are not very weatherproof.

Oh that. No, never used it.

When I bought my FJ62, there was a set on the ARB that were tinted yellow. I guess they're no longer available with the tint?

I've had good luck with the film. Holding fine on a friends truck. And on the fogs on a Subaru 2.5rs (a 6" fog like a hella 500) and have had it on that car a few years + now.

Try rallylights.com...they have lots of hella bulbs, including some with the yellow cover.

Well I have to confess that one of my goals is to have round fogs that look yellow when turned off... That said I also like the functionaliry of yelow light in fog/snow situations. If the yellow covers don't yield yellow enough light I'll add these bulbs... Or just get a pair of the Boasch's noted above.

Daniel Stern ordered me some yellow Bosch 100's for my ARB in my 100....I like them :)

Yeah... I had seen the Duplicolor mentioned somewhere... but in that forum they warned against it... If the stick-on stuff isn't dark yellow enough I may try BOTH! AND add a yellow bulb... that'll do the trick!

BTW I ordered a pair of the yellow stick-ons from Amazon and what arrived was a pair of the smoked ones... the label on them said "Yellow" but they are packaged so you can't see the color until you open them. I have a replacement set on the way but I fear that some warehouse drone mislabled a whole bunch of them and it may take some doing to get an actual yellow set...

If the lights have enough depth to the housings, a 3009k hid is nice. Better output and less draw.

Also, did you order static cling or sticky film for the yellow? On the LEDs I posted, did 2 layers to get the darker color on those.
