Wanted Looking for fj40 FST dash mounted map light “Vader” style

Does anyone have any extra map lights for the FST fj40 that mounts to the dash, to the right of the glove box? Some were even mounted under the dash.
I have the switch, just need the light assembly. It sorta resembles Darth Vader’s helmet, hence the “Vader” light.

Thanks I had not seen this before. Is there only one on the passenger side? Where is the switch located?

The switch is a little black unlabeled round pull knob, usually located directly below the light. I’ve also seen the knob located to the left of the glove box though, amongst the other pull knobs. The very most right knob on the lower level of knobs.

I believe @Trollhole Marshall had a switch for sale. Had plugs on the back not screw lugs. But looked the same on the dash. Vader Lights are out there. Just needs enough green to convince someone to sell theirs. Unlike the switch that a good replacement was found everything suggest as a replacement for the Vader light won't fool anyone.

I’ve got the original switch with the screw lugs. Just no Vader. One will surface someday.

On early trucks (prior to when factory heater was standard equipment), the Vader light was on the bottom of the dash, under the choke knob.

Really glad my '64 still had its light installed, I'd hate to be in this same boat. They have been showing up on eBay recently, albeit at some truly shocking prices.

I thought one was on there for $600 recently. I might consider selling a few of mine once the price appreciates more. Cruiser parts are appreciating more than my 401k and 457.

It was just a shot in the dark, thought there might be a .01% chance someone had a ratty one in a pile somewhere. I don't need it, just thought they were cool. Not looking to spend big bucks on one.

I needed one also but not wanting to spend $300+. I bought this dash light since my rig is not a concourse restoration. Will need to enlarge the hole to 25mm. For $20 it will be perfect for me.

I tried ordering 4 of that style from a company. They never emailed me back. That one is pretty cool.

I think you’re correct. Those are close too. untill someone starts remaking something close to the originals I think the stuff in this thread are the best options out there.

Anyone have any idea if the real things were used on ANYTHING other than Land Cruisers? Other Toyotas, or anything? Seems odd that they would have tooled up for a special light just for these rigs.

Dang looks the same as mine. I overpaid for the ones I have if that’s out there. I like the full metal bottom edge too. It’s not split like the Jeep ones.
