Looking for a clean FJ55 restoration candidate. Would prefer local, low miles, little or no rust and original running gear.

Need something reasonably priced but also not a ton of work.

I saw the one in Tucson CL but also interested in non-craigslist sales.

Let me know if you know of one or have one you are willing to part with.

Good luck with that. They were rare when new. Only a few thousand units per year. Replacement parts are few and far between. Even units from dry climates tend to get serious rust in the rear of the front fenders. Driver's window regulator among other items is rare, and most weatherstripping is gold. As much as I love them, if I had another one, I really doubt that I could leave it stock. John

Another landcruiser....geez..does that mean the other one will be further delayed from hitting pavement? I will keep an eye out for one.

I was at Mikes shop today and not only got to see the nicer-than-new-on-the-showroom-floor undercarriage/drivetrain nut I also got to hear the 6.0 get started and roar to life. man, that is wsweet music. Im still calling for the first ride in his truck when he gives free rides at an upcoming meet!:steer:

I want the second ride

Looks like a pretty decent candidate in Tucson:

No affilliation.
Yeah talked to the guy and he said someone was mailing him a check. I'm not the type to swoop in and take something from another buyer. I figured I would see if that played out and if not I would make him an offer. Looks like the AD is down so I assume the deal got done. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.

Thanks John, that's good feedback. I passed on one a year ago because I was afraid of the difficulty of getting parts too... I don't know, something in me just keeps coming back to the FJ55. I feel like I need to exercise that Demon...

Ok I solved the problem of needing an FJ55, perhaps too well.

Now I am on the hunt for a 2F motor and transmission.

Anyone know of a good running 2F and transmission that is available locally?

I have found two but they are in CA. I would rather avoid the unknowns and shipping costs if possible.

Please let me know!! :beer: Thanks!!!

They? Twins? :pig::pig:
