looking for advise on building an ARB style bumper (1 Viewer)

I am thinking about building my own off road ARB style front winch bumper for my 80 series land cruiser. I have never looked at one closely. Does anyone here have one or one like it? Are they made from flat steel plates welded together? or are they cast?

They are made from stamped tin and more like a "tapper" than a bumper.

I had a fabricator build the bumper for my FJ60, it's plates welded together.

I think most guys mock up the bumper out of cardboard first.
