Just wanted to share my frustration lol and maybe find a resolution to this saga.

I have been looking for a Power steering idler pulley and tensioner assembly for my 3b bj42 for almost a year now.

When I say looking I mean i have phoned all the cruiser shops and either no one replies, or they wont sell it unless I buy the complete power steering set up for 300 dollars or more.
Thats fair enough, but I don't need it all. I respect them not wanting to break up the kit, that's cool.

I have a destroyed rotator cuff in my shoulder and find it nearly impossible to drive The 42 without the Power steering now

It's gotten to the point where I am considering getting rid of the truck because I cant find these two stupid little parts and driving it is too painful wrestling the wheel.

I mean a year? It's not a vintage bugatti or something.:crybaby:

If you have one or know a guy who knows a guy PLEASE let me know.

Thanks guys :)

I have cash and or parts to trade!

You'd rather get rid of a cruiser than spend the $300?!

That makes very little sense to me. I'd say pay the piper, finish the conversion with the best of the parts you'll have on hand and be happy. Keep the rest as spares ( because thy wont be easy to find when you need them ) or sell the left overs and get some if your money back.

Very simple.

That's just me talking crazy, I love the truck to death, and the 300 bucks was for rusty no gaurantee parts that look like they came out of the bottom of a sea can.

As a happy ending, a gentleman in Vancouver came through at a sane price for just the tensioner piece of a low KM BJ74.

Merry Christmas guys, and Georg I have another diesel 60 air filter housing if you are interested.
